Wylder Demo Days
The Wylder Demo Days were created to have a place for women to come out and try the women's-specific Wylder bikes out on a real ride - on a real trail. They sign people up for time slots in advance and allow women to test ride the bikes for 30-45 minutes. Once the official demo day is over, Wylder takes out anyone who would like to join them for a fun ride. The ride is usually 1 - 1.5 hours and allows for a more thorough experience on the bikes.

Wylder bikes, or the Wylder "Femmetry" components, can transform your bike by using a more narrow handle bar, smaller grips and a women's specific saddle. See sched below to find out more! Components, t-shirts, and other Wylder schwag will be available for purchase. Their goal is to inform riders about the benefits of Femmetry designed frames, and components! Call ahead to reserve a time slot at the events with a fun ride and skills clinic.

If no one answers after 8:30 am on a Saturday in iffy weather, it is likely that the supervisor has concluded that riding on the track will be unfeasible throughout the morning.

Beginner sessions will consist of coaching and practice races. The goal is to create a situation where all the riders have fun while learning about the track. No racing license is needed, but helmets are required, and riders under 18 need a parent's signature on a release form before they can use the velodrome.

Riders who need to rent bikes should bring their own shoes and pedals to put on the rental bikes. Other than their own shoes and pedals, all a rider needs to bring is their regular riding clothes along with their helmet (a helmet is required to ride on the track). One's pedals can be removed from one's road bike at the track, but it streamlines the process for the rider to pull and bring the pedals, leaving the road bike at home. (okay...that's obvious!)

There is no limit to the number of riders who can be instructed, and therefore, no advance reservation system. However, the rental fleet is of finite size, and rental bikes at novice sessions are issued on a first-come-first-served basis. Most of the time there is no problem in accommodating everyone who shows up for a Sat AM session, but on rare occasion, they run out of rental bikes. If you plan to rent, it's best to be at the track right at 8:30 upon opening. Those who come later will get a bike from an increasingly depleted range of sizes.

Each novice session is organized and led by an experienced track supervisor. The supervisor will teach people the basic rules of the track and lead the group through on-the-bike exercises to teach the basics of track riding.
