05/25/02 - We're All Verklempt!
You guys are the best! The outpouring of support from our local cycling community has been fantastic. I'm proud to announce that due to the support we have received from individuals in the Monterey Bay area and beyond, Velo Bella will be sending Susy Pryde to NORBA Nationals in Wisconsin and West Virgina in June. Susy will head to the NORBA Nationals directly from a road campaign back East that includes a World Cup race in Philadelphia and Montreal. We'll keep you updated on her progress.

Shelly Whisenhant will fly the Velo Bella colors at Wisconsin. So cool!

The National Off-Road Bicycle Association (NORBA) crowned Velo Bella as national champions at one of the largest 24 Hours of Adrenalin events held in Monterey on May 18-19. National titles were handed out to solo men and women, a women's team, men's team, master's men team and junior team.

Velo Bella earned the Championship Title for the 4-person Open Women category at the 24 Hours of Adrenalin NORBA National Championships in Monterey, CA. The winning team consisted of captain Sabine Dukes, Shelly Whisenhant, Alex Fabbro, and Dana Lookadoo.

5/13/02 - Big Bear Mountain Bike National Series
In case you haven't kept up on your online Velonews and Cyclingnews reading...Susy Pryde, wearing hot-off-the-presses Velo Bella gear, overcame a back-of-the-pack staging to finish 5th in the Pro Women's Cross Country and a very dramatic 3rd in the Pro Short Track. Check out Cyclingnews to see a picture of her and the gear in action.

Shelly Whisenhant had a fantastic race for her first Nationals race since upgrading to Pro. She finished with some of the top women in the country to take 17th. Go Shelly Belly!

Petra Rocha, racing for Team Trek, raced the pro race and gave a fine performance to finish in 40th place.

Shelly and Petra also raced the short track the next day and managed to finish 5-6 laps before being two of the 50 women lapped by Alison Dunlap.
